Obituary

Ethel M. (Bailey) Bogosian passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, May 17, 2026. She was the wife of the late Paul J. Bogosian, with whom she shared fifty-seven years of marriage before his passing in 2009. They resided together in North Kingstown for all but their first six years of marriage. In 2017, she moved to Anchor Bay Greenwich where she resided until her passing. Born in Warwick, Rhode Island on November 12, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Walter Bailey and Isabella (Meek) Bailey.

She attended the public schools in Warwick, graduating from Samuel Gorton High School in 1947. Following that, she attended Katharine Gibbs Secretarial School. Later she earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Rhode Island. She worked as a sales associate at Jordan Marsh Co. in Warwick and continued there when it was later acquired by Macy’s.

She enjoyed travelling and, in addition to her travel within the United States, she visited Great Britain, Greece, Egypt, Israel and China.

She is survived by her son, Paul J. Bogosian, Jr., Esq., and his wife, Barbara J. (Palmer) Bogosian of Warwick, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Dorothy Bailey, Elenor Bailey, Bessie (Bailey) Boudrow and Anne (Bailey) Taylor and her brothers, George Bailey, Milton Bailey and William Bailey.

The family would like to thank the staff at Anchor Bay for all of their help over the last nine years as well as the staff at both Kent Hospital and Bayview Rehabilitation at Scalabrini who saw to her needs during her final weeks.

Funeral service Thursday, May 28, 2026 at 11:30 am at the Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home, 659 East Greenwich Ave., West Warwick UNDER THE DIRECTION OF THE HILL SKEFFINGTON FUNERAL HOME OF EAST GREENWICH. Burial will be in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:30am – 11:30 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ethel’s memory to the Rhode Island Chapter of The Nature Conservancy, 159 Waterman Street, Providence, RI 02906 or the East Greenwich Free Library, 86 Pierce Street, East Greenwich, RI 02818.
