Gloria A. Roy, 90, a resident of East Greenwich, Rhode Island, and formerly of Warren, Rhode Island and Chicopee, Massachusetts, was called safely home on Saturday March 14th, 2026. Gloria passed into Eternal Life at Hope Hospice in Providence, Rhode Island surrounded by the care and comfort of her family. Gloria is pre-deceased by her husband of 65 years, Roger E. Roy, who was called home on August 11, 2018, her loving son Steven P. Roy, who was called home on February 1, 2015, and her dear sisters Joan McWhirt of Adams, MA who was called home in 1997, and Kathryne Paul of Albany, NY who was called home on October 29, 2025. Gloria was born in Holyoke, Massachusetts on July 4th, 1935, the eldest daughter of the late Raymond and Marjorie (Couture) Paul. Gloria grew up in Chicopee where she met her late husband, Roger. Gloria and Roger were married on May 30, 1953, at Saint Anne Church in Chicopee and then moved with her husband Roger to Germany during Roger’s Korean War military service. Upon return from Germany, they moved to the Lombard Street in the Fairview section of Chicopee where they raised their five children, until moving to Warren, Rhode Island in 1974. Gloria was employed for many years as a medical billing specialist at the Artificial Kidney Center of Rhode Island, in East Providence, Rhode Island. Gloria was a longtime communicant of Saint Anne Church in Chicopee and St. Mary of the Bay Church in Warren, Rhode Island. Gloria leaves behind her four devoted children, Michael J. Roy and his wife, Judith, of Belchertown, Jerome R. Roy of Chicopee, Elaine M. Crellin and her husband Andrew, of Bristol, Rhode Island, and Dennis E. Roy and his husband, Ty Kadoli, of East Greenwich, Rhode Island; her nine cherished grandchildren, Eric Roy and his wife Kathleen, Jeffrey Roy and his partner, Amy, Daniel Roy and his wife, Allison, Emily Roy and her partner Tonja, Hillary Towsley and her husband, Kenneth, Matthew Roy and his partner Kevin, Jackson Crellin and his wife Nicole, Alex Crellin and his fiancé Courtney, and Elise Crellin and her partner, Steve: her 11 cherished great grandchildren, Justin, Luke and Charlotte Roy, Ethan and Hazel Roy, Noah, Samuel and Henry Jackson, Landen and Sawyer Towsley, and Loretta Silva: her dear sisters and brothers Elinor Ranck of Chicopee, Grace Dierkes of Livingston, NY, Marjorie Paul of Enfield, CT, Marie Duff of Ridgecrest, CA, and Raymond Paul of Hudson, NY, and her many dear brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, number friends and extended members of the Roy and Paul families, and countless friends of her children and grandchildren who all referred to her as “Memere” for many years. Gloria’s funeral will be held on Saturday March 28th at 10:00am at Saint Anne Church in Chicopee, MA followed by her burial at the Notre Dame Cemetery, 63 Lyman Street, South Hadley, MA.
