It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our treasured father, Philip Lawrence Blough, 92, of Warwick, RI, predeceased by his loving wife of 66 years, June Rose (Soxman) Blough, known by all as Nikki. Phil passed away in the early morning hours of August 24, 2026, after complications following an essential surgery.

Phil was born in Pittsburgh, PA on July 19, 1934. He was the son of the late William G. and Helene M. (Colclaser)Blough. He came from a family of 11 for which he was very proud and remained close with all of his siblings. He is survived by his brothers Jack and Lynn and his sisters Patricia Dinda, Kathryn Wood and Rosemary Kaus. Brothers and sister gone before him were the Reverand William Blough, Daniel, Edward, Donald, and Helene.

He is survived by his daughters, Tina and her husband Richard, Gretchen and her husband Rick, Rebecca, and his son Matthew and his wife Tracey, his grandchildren Ashley and her husband Justin, Lilly, Kyle and his wife Tasha, Corinna, Kendall, Brittany, and Aidan, and his great grandchildren Arianna, Aurora, Kayleigh, Aiden, and Cory. Phil also had many cherished nieces and nephews that he loved that will keep him close in their hearts.

Like his father and brothers before him he proudly served in the United States Army, rising to Sergeant and serving as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division during the Korean War Conflict. You would never see him without his 82nd Airborne hat. He was greeted by a multitude of people that never hesitated to thank him for his service, some even paying for his drink or even a meal while he was out enjoying an evening. He enjoyed watching cowboy movies, war documentaries and kept himself busy building model airplanes that either he jumped out of or one of his brothers flew in during World War II.

One of Phil's greatest joys was creating Christmas magic with his elaborate displays underneath his beautifully decorated trees. The intricate villages filled with towns people, roads made of coffee grounds, ice rinks, airports, and trains were amazing. His attention to detail was incomparable and he made sure every year was a new display. He continued this tradition through his final Christmas.

Our father always did what needed to be done without hesitation or complaint. His gentle way of caring for our mother during her final difficult years were beyond reproach and his dedication to their little dog Bella was heartwarming. He never missed their daily walks no matter what the weather or how he was feeling. His patience rivaled none and there was not anything his soft, melodic whistle would not get him through. In his last moments he would still pucker up for a kiss goodbye and share a glimmer of a smile to let you know that you were loved.

Until we meet again Dad you will be treasured, loved and remembered forever in our hearts.
