Obituary

Raymond H. Grenier, 59, of North Providence passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 16, 2026. Born in Providence Raymond was the son of the late Maurice J. and Ethel M. (Nunes) Grenier. He was the loving husband of Cheryl A. (Czeczot) Grenier for 23 years and together for 35 years.

Raymond worked as a furniture builder for WB Mason in recent years, and previously was an employee of Ocean State Dairy, a division of Hood Milk for 15 years.

Raymond was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School class of 87, which meant he was a true Kiltie. He loved the game of football and was on the football team his sophomore thru senior year. He was a die-hard Washington Redskins fan and a fan of the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox. Raymond enjoyed playing basketball with friends growing up in Smith Hill.

He liked building models of cars or military tanks and painting them. He would assemble, fix and repair anything and even install anything you asked him to do. He was very good at handling anything “technical” with much ease and was handy with doing household improvements.

His entire family thanks the staff at Fresenius Medical Care for their dedication to patient care and attention for Raymond.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Evan R. Grenier and Joshua T. Grenier both of North Providence; his siblings Ronald Nunes of Providence, Maurice Grenier of Lynn, MA, Steven Grenier of Cranston, Rose Allard of Cranston, Brenda Grenier of Cranston, Linda Cueva of Providence and Olive Thurber of Cranston and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Donna Nunes of Providence.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours which will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2026 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm in the Skeffington Funeral Home, 925 Chalkstone Ave., Providence, RI. Burial will be private. Visit www.hillskeffington.com for online condolences.
