Obituary

Robert Lee Haynes, the ripe age of 80, of Woonsocket, RI, passed away surrounded by family on October 20, 2026. He was the beloved son of Connie.

He leaves behind his devoted domestic partner of 15 years, Dawn Guyer, and her daughter, Kayleigh, who were an important part of his life.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Elizabeth, as well as four of his siblings: Ivonia, Emma, George, and Jessie.

Robert leaves behind his three children, Bobby, Nicole, and Ellyse, his cherished grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He is also survived by his sister, Minister Katherine Obey. Together, they shared a lifetime of family memories. Robert’s loving heart, playful spirit, and larger-than-life personality will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

The perfect mix of loving, playful, and high-spirited, with just a dash of spontaneity. He always lived life to the fullest, never missing a family gathering, a chance for adventure, or an opportunity to make memories. His stories kept everyone entertained, laughing, and always wondering what he would say or do next!

He were unapologetically himself, and one of his greatest gifts was making everyone around him feel like they could be themselves, too. He had a personality all of his own, a spirit that could never be tamed, and a way of making life a little more interesting for everyone lucky enough to know him.

And his style — oh, his style! We’re pretty sure ZZ Top had him in mind when they sang “Sharp Dressed Man.” He knew how to make an entrance and leave an impression. Whether he were dressed to impress or out riding his beloved motorcycle, he lived life on his own terms, with confidence, character, and a spirit of adventure.

A proud United States Army veteran, he served his country during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged. His service will always be remembered with gratitude and respect.

He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, love, unforgettable stories, and memories that will be cherished for generations. Though he may have taken his final ride, his adventurous spirit, his one-of-a-kind personality, and the stories we’ll continue to tell will keep him close to our hearts forever.

The road ahead may be endless, but so is the love and laughter you leave behind. Ride free, ride proud, and keep them entertained up there. You will never be forgotten.

A Celebration of Life will be planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Robert’s memory. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Skeffington Funeral Home and Cremations of Providence, RI. Please visit www.hillskeffington.com for online condolences.
