Alexandra C. Carlin

Alexandra C. Carlin, 94, formerly of East Greenwich, RI, passed away on May 25, 2018 at Brentwood Nursing Home.  She was born in Pawtucket, RI, the daughter of the late Samuel and Annie Cviska.  For 61 years she was married to the late Edward P. Carlin.  She was also the sister of the late Charles Quirka of Pawtucket, RI and the late Annie Andreozzi of Barrington, RI and Boulder, CO.  Her survivors include her children, Alexandra Heavey of Marion, MA, Edward Carlin, Jr of Carlsbad, CA, Sandra Carlin of Warwick, RI, and Lisa Long of Natick, MA and 7 grandchildren.

“Alice” graduated from Pawtucket East High School and received a certificate in Fashion Illustration from the Rhode Island School of Design.  She was a talented seamstress, painter, and golfer and was drawn to the beauty of nature, particularly in trees, shells, rocks, and the sky.  She will be remembered for her “collections,” her devotion to her “sweetie” Ed, and her quiet but determined nature.

Committal Prayers will be held on Monday, July 2 at 11:30 a.m. at the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter, RI. Donations in Alex’s memory may be sent to RISD, Two College Street, Providence, RI 02903, Attn: Amanda Wright.  Please mention Alex’s name in your donation.
