It is with great sadness that we announce of the unexpected passing of Andrew "Andy" P. Boyorek, age 80, on March 16, 2026. Andy was born on July 25, 1945, in Fall River, Mass to the late Andrew J. Boyorek and the late Mary Sousa Lopes.
Andy grew up in Warren, RI, where his father was the proprietor of Andy's Bar. The saying was "always a good time at Andy's Bar" and Andy did have a good time working there alongside his father, sharing a laugh and meeting friends together. Even after Andy moved to Smithfield and then Scituate, RI he was always ready to return for to Warren to attend High School reunions and reminisce with friends about the good old days. He loved the clambakes in Warren (both Engine #3's and the Bikers Bake) and attended both with family and friends for many years.
Andy also enjoyed going to classic car shows where he won numerous trophies with his own '60”Thunderbird. 50's music, vacationing in Cape Cod, fishing, boating and going on cruises with family and friends were a few of his favorite things.
Spending Saturday afternoons at Armand's service station was a must do, so many friends stopped in to share a story, a laugh and perhaps even a beer or two. Andy, Armand, Kenny, Johnny and many others became fast friends. The Saturdays eventually stopped but the friendships remained. His pride and joy was his handlebar mustache curled up at the ends and never to be shaved off.
His loyalty to the New England Patriots was unwavering and he attended many opening day games even the opening day game at the new Gillette Stadium and eventually attending Super-Bowl XLVI in 2012 in Indianapolis at Colts Stadium with his son-in-law Jim.
Andy worked at New England telephone for 32 years as an installer until there was an accident where he fell 30 feet off a pole and shattered both of his heels. He was also a shop steward for Local 2323.
Andrew leaves behind his loving and devoted wife of 36 years Diane K Boyorek and his cherished daughters Kristen Boyorek of Smithfield, Mary Catherine Armstrong (Walter) of Foster, Amy Delisi of Portsmouth, Kimberly Mulcahy of North Scituate, Erin McKenna of Smithfield and Shannon Melia of North Scituate. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, who knew him better as "Grampy" Cameron Mulcahy, Garrett Mulcahy (Heather), Abigail Stiles, Madelynn Melia and Sofia Melia and Vincent DeLisi and Ella DeLisi as well as several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his sister Phyllis Lombardi. .
The funeral service will be held on Monday at 10 AM at Skeffington Funeral Home and Cremation, located at 925 Chalkstone Avenue, Providence, RI 02908.
