Ann D. (Fitzsimmons) Scanlon

91, of Hilary Drive passed away October 31, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Bernard A. Scanlon. Born in Providence, she was daughter of the late George H. and Mary (Campbell) Fitzsimmons. Ann was a graduate of St. Xavier Academy and the former Bryant College. She worked for RI College for over 30 years before retiring. Surviving are two sons Richard P. and Michael B. Scanlon, two daughters Joy A. Starnino and Debra S. Regan. She was the sister of George H. Fitzsimmons and the late Edna Fitzsimmons, Grace Casperson, Myrtle Cardoza and James Fitzsimmons, and the loving grandmother of Liza, Jesse, Jared and Paul. Her funeral will be held Monday morning at 9:00 AM from the J. F. Skeffington Chapel, 925 Chalkstone Avenue followed by a mass of Christian Burial in St. Augustine Church, Mount Pleasant Avenue at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery Pawtucket. Visiting hours Sunday 5:00 - 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her memory to Catholic Charities of RI, Diocese of Providence One Cathedral Square Providence, RI 02903.
