Anna M. Lanier

Anna M.  (Lupo) Lanier, 91, of West Warwick, Rhode Island entered into the eternal presence of the Lord on November 10, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Anna was born in Providence, Rhode Island. She married the late Palmer Lanier, of Macon, Georgia, and they lived throughout the United States as a Navy family. Anna returned to Rhode Island, where she spent the rest of her life raising her children around her large, extended family and pursuing her interests.

In more recent years, Anna enjoyed attending St. Elizabeth’s Adult Services at the Apponaug Center and was known for her contagious smile and friendly demeanor. Anna was a textile worker throughout the West Warwick and Coventry area. She was a dedicated helper to many of her relatives and friends throughout the years, being a caregiver. She loved boating, fishing, clamming, bowling, and traveling.

Anna is survived by an older brother, Philip Lupo, of Idaho; two sisters, Dolores Lupo and Mary Gauvin,  both of West Warwick; four children: daughter, Catherine McPeak (and spouse, Paul McPeak) of Lehigh Acres, FL; son, Paul Lanier (and spouse, Bev) of Willimantic, CT; daughter, Marie Lanier (and spouse, Jaffar Kermani) of Laguna Hills, CA; and Pamela Lee (and spouse, James Lee) of Greene, RI.  Nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Several beloved family members passed on before Anna, including her sister, Genevieve Decesare of West Warwick; her  brother, Raymond Lupo of Hampden, Maine; and her youngest brother,  Robert Lupo of West Warwick.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, November 17, 2023, 10:00am at St. Anthony Church, 1 Sunset Avenue, West Warwick.  Interment will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, West Warwick.
