Arlene D. Burdon

Arlene D. Burdon, a longtime resident of East Greenwich, died August 13, 2024.  She was married for 47 years to the late Edmond H. Burdon. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Eva Brown.  She is survived by three sons, Dean A. Burdon and his wife Pam, Lance Burdon and his wife Abigail and Edmond H. Burdon, Jr. and his wife Lois; 8 grandchildren: Melissa (Kevin), Jessica, Levi, Alexander, Vivienne, Edmond, III (Vianney), Michael (Andrea) and Kelly; and 4 great grandchildren:  Henry, Maddox, Liam, Kieran and Elizabeth; and a brother Robert Brown.  She was predeceased be her brother Alexander Brown.

She was a graduate of North Providence High School.  Arlene was an avid golfer and bridge player.  She was a lifetime member of Quidnessett Country Club in North Kingstown and a former member of the RI Women’s Golf Association.

Funeral Service Tuesday, August 20th at 11:00am at the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., East Greenwich.  Burial will be in RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.   Calling hours will be prior to the service from 9:30-11:00am.  In lieu of donations buy a golf ball and think of Arlene.
