Arthur Viera, Jr.

Arthur Viera Jr., of Providence, Rhode Island, passed away on February 14, 2026. Born on July 17, 1944, in Providence to Arthur Viera and Rose Pacheco.

Arthur proudly served in the United States Army as a Specialist 4, during the Vietnam War, fighting in the Battle of Ia Drang. He was awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart for his valor and wounds received during the battle.

He enjoyed camping, fishing, and riding motorcycles.

Arthur is survived by his children, Shirley Hoadley, Jerry Viera, and Daniel Viera; his sister, Anne Miller; and his niece, Tina Miller-Enos. He was predeceased by his parents Arthur and Rose.

Military honors will be rendered at a future date at Arlington National Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest with the dignity and gratitude of a grateful nation.
