Assunta "Sue" Paul

Assunta “Sue” Paul, 76, or North Kingstown, RI, died peacefully at home on July 18, 2022.  She was born March 21, 1945 on Federal Hill.  She was the daughter of the late Umberto and Anna (Carcieri) Furio.  She was predeceased by her husband of 33 years, Roger F. Paul.

Sue graduated as a Licensed Practical Nurse and enjoyed a long career working in various hospitals throughout RI, finally retiring from Kent Hospital, while assigned to the Oncology floor.  Ironically, her retirement was a direct result of a diagnosis of cancer.

She is survived by son, Henry T. Paul of Coventry, and daughter, Gabrielle A. Paul of North Kingstown.  She is also survived by grandson, Samuel C. Paul.

Sue was very family-oriented, organizing frequent weekend trips, and whole family gatherings.  Sue enjoyed many hobbies, including baking, sewing, crochet, bird watching and decoupage.  Sue enjoyed sharing her husband Roger’s interests in Steam Locomotives, as well and participating in the Viking Antique Auto Club and the Antique Cadillac Club, often showcasing her and Roger’s restored antique cars.
