Barbara A. Bass Post

Barbara A. Bass Post, 81, of Providence passed away with family in her home on August 12, 2022 when her heart, full of love, gave out. She was the daughter of the late Warren and Ethel Martin (Tatro) and the granddaughter of the late Aldace and Nora Eubar and Herbert and Flora Martin. She was the beloved spouse of the late Everett C. Post. She is survived by her daughters Diana L. Bass and Kathleen Bruhn Bass; her sons Alan and Timothy Bass, Kevin E. Moniz and Mathew B. Bass. She helped raise three of her grandchildren and leaves behind, Cynthia A. Bass and Julio A. Maldonado and their son James E. Maldonado of Providence; Brian E. Bass and his wife Aleksandra Ola W. Szczesna of Norwich, CT; and Crystal J. Bass and Garry A. Morin and their children Jason P.E. Morin and Jacqueline R. Morin of Warwick, RI. She is also survived by three sisters, Doris (Martin) Hall of Poultney, VT; Glenda (Martin) Sleath of Grantham, NH; Gloria Tatro of Klamath Falls, OR and three brothers, Charlie Martin of FL; Winfield "Happy" Martin of Springfield, VT; and Larry Tatro of FL. Barbara was predeceased by her two sons Raymond L. Bass Jr. and Jason K. Bass Post. She will be missed by many more friends and relatives. A lover of animals, through her years Barbara loved many fur babies that have passed on to animal Heaven, most recently her beloved shitzu, Princess. Barbara, affectionately known as Nana and Barb, always had a smile on her face and love in her heart. The happiness of her family meant everything to her and she always found a way to help others. She was a lover of elephants with their trunks up, a nice hearty steak with a double shot margarita from Texas Roadhouse, enjoyed a relaxing search-a-word puzzle, listening to country music, as she was a farm girl originally from Rochester Vermont, and watching a good New York Yankees or New England Patriots game with her late husband. Barbara worked in a jewelry factory before retiring and was a collector of many trinkets, notably her very large salt 'n pepper shaker collection. In her retirement, she ran an antiques booth at Americana Flea Market on the weekends. She enjoyed spending time, especially the holidays, with her extended family and having many laughs. She will be remembered with love and fondness now that she is with her Honey and her two sons. Arrangements entrusted to the J.F. Skeffington Funeral Home and Cremations, 925 Chalkstone Avenue, Providence. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing Friday, August 19th from 4:00-7:00pm. A service will be held in the funeral home the following day Saturday at 10:00am followed by burial in North Burial Ground Cemetery Providence.
