Bartholomew "Jack" Sheridan, Iii

Bartholomew (Jack) Sheridan III, 62, born in Providence, grew up and lived in Warwick, Rhode Island, died peacefully surrounded by his family on October 8, 2019. He was the son of Batholomew J Sheridan II and Barbara L Sheridan. He was loved and surrounded by his sisters, Bonnie MacDonald of East Greenwich and Gail McKay of North Kingstown. He looked up to his sisters and loved them dearly, as they were the best role models he could ask for. He also grew up with life time friend and best man, Peter Lyons, of Old Orchard Beach. They enjoyed spending time together and their best memories were created in Bar Harbor, Maine and Newport, Rhode Island.

In his early years, he attended Bishop Hendricken High School and went on to receive a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Salve Regina University. He spent his professional life being a Warwick Police officer. He earned a life saving medal from the Warwick Police Department for his heroic act. He always put others before himself. He visited schools frequently, serving as a D.A.R.E officer. Being a D.A.R.E officer was his true passion, it gave him the ability to teach and make an impact on the community. He retired in 2001 after dedicating 21 years to the Warwick Police Department.

He was most proud of his three children: Caitlin M, 26, Andrew J, 23, Emily R, 21. His kids were his true love and he would proudly tell everyone about them. His former wife, Mariellen M. Sheridan, was a lifetime friend to him and the mother of his children. He spent his summers in Maine with his family going to Bayley’s campground, clamming on Pine Point Beach, and exploring all of the rides Old Orchard Beach had to offer. He loved watching the TV show Cops with his daughter, Caitlin. He shared his passion and love for cars with his son, Andrew. He shared his quick wit and sense of humor with his daughter, Emily. His kids will always remember him for his infamous “Jack cuts”, his ability to lighten up any situation by cracking a joke, his love for lobsters and a rare steak, and the never ending love he had for Ford Cars. ‘

He will be missed dearly by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
