Bernice L. Burgess

Bernice (Bunny) Burgess, 72, of East Greenwich, RI died Wednesday in Kent County Memorial Hospital, Warwick.

Bernice was the wife of the late Charles A. Burgess Jr. Born in Plymouth, NH. A daughter of the late Lawrence and Laurette Downing. She lived in East Greenwich for 42 years.

Mrs. Burgess (Better known as Nana) had been a homemaker for many years. She enjoyed caring for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her hobbies were crocheting afghans for the ones she loved and baking her annual Christmas Cookies.

Bernice is survived by 1 son, Stanley W. Marion and his fiancé Ann Marie Carroll. 3 step children; Charles A. Burgess III, Michael W. Burgess, and Valerie F. Burgess. 6 brothers and sisters, 1 step brother. 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by 1 step son William S. Burgess, 1 sister, 1 brother, and 2 step brothers.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, February 3rd at 10:00am at Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown.  Calling hours:  Wednesday, February 2nd 6-8pm at the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., East Greenwich.
