83, of East Greenwich, RI and formally Lakewood Ranch FL, passed away peacefully at home April 10, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Born on January 27, 1940, in Providence, Carol was the beloved daughter of the late Ernest and Anna (Campanini) Pesce.
Carol is survived by the love of her life, her husband of 62 years, William L. DiStefano, her three children; Karen A. DiStefano and her companion Patrick Ross, William L. DiStefano Jr. and daughter-in-law Kimberly and Sharon A. DiStefano-Letendre. Her five grandchildren, who were her entire world, Paul J. Steber III, Caroline A. Letendre, William L. DiStefano III, Andrew B. DiStefano and Jack W. Letendre. She is also survived by her sister Barbara Bernardo, nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her sister Estelle Mancini, brother Joseph Pesce and son-in-law Mark E. Letendre.
An avid golfer and tennis player, Carol was formally a member of Warwick Country Club, Valley Country Club and Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club in Florida.
Carol’s family is most grateful for the care she received from her caregivers Leslie, Connie and Amber and staff of Home Instead, the healthcare professionals Kim, Lynn and Kate and many others from Hope Hospice who are truly angels on earth.
A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 10 am, St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 360 Cowesett Rd. Warwick, RI 02886. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted and burial will be private.
