Carol A. Harding

Carol Harding, 83, of Warwick, RI, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 2, 2023.  She was the beloved wife of the late Edward Harding of Warwick, RI, and was the daughter of the late Roland and Rose LeMay of Warwick, Rhode Island.

Carol will always be remembered by those who knew and loved her for her cooking, baking, her deep kindness and caring nature.  Among her favorite pastimes, she was an avid reader and loved doing word search puzzles.  Her greatest pleasure was being with and cooking for her family and friends, especially during the holidays.  She is well-remembered for her delicious Christmas cookies, Irish soda bread and Easter rice pies as well as her New Year’s Day lasagna which was a highly anticipated annual event. Nothing made her happier than spending time with her family and she was always up for any celebration that brought her family together. She worked for over 25 years in retail at Filene’s and then Macy’s and loved talking with and helping customers.

Born in Providence, Rhode Island, Carol was a lifelong resident of Warwick, Rhode Island.  She was the beloved mother of Susan Mariani (husband Michael) who will miss her terribly.  She was the proud grandmother of Kelsey Mariani and Lucas Mariani (wife Alexandra) who were her greatest joys. Carol is survived by her younger brother, Kenneth LeMay of Buckeye, Arizona (wife Gianna).

Carol will be sadly missed by her lifelong best friend, Gail Chase (and husband Tom). They had been friends since they were six years old and never had an angry word between them in all those years.  All will miss her loving heart and good humor.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday October 7, 2023 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 65 Third St., East Greenwich, Rhode Island.
