Caroline M. Cressman, 89, a longtime resident of East Greenwich, passed away November 12, 2018. She is survived by her beloved husband of 67 years, Robert C. Cressman, Sr. Born in Harrisburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Stanley W. and Mary (Egry) Matla.
After years of being wonderful homemaker and mother to her children Caroline became a licensed realtor in 1972. She started and owned the highly successful real estate firm Cress & Company in 1978, where she enjoyed helping families find the right home for them. She spent most of her life as a resident of East Greenwich and was always very active in local community and church activities. She was a world traveler and especially enjoyed traveling with her husband, and also frequently took their children and their families on great family excursions.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her children, Robert C. Cressman, Jr. and his wife Angela, Kathleen A. Blier and her husband Gary, Donald E. Cressman and his wife Mary Jane and John B. Cressman and his wife Suzanne; 9 grandchildren, Robert III, Spencer, Connor, Nathaniel, Rebecca, Jacqueline, Alexander, Jessica and Lauren; and great grandson, Kellan. She was the sister of the late Bobby Matla.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, November 19 th at 10:30am Our Lady of Mercy Church, 65 Third St., East Greenwich. Burial will be in RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Calling hours: Sunday, November 18 th 1-4pm at the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., East Greenwich. In lieu of flowers please contribute to your Local food bank for Thanksgiving donations.
