Catherine P. Murphy of Middleboro, Massachusetts, formerly of Valley Falls, R.I. passed away at home Monday, November 28, 2016. She had just turned 79. Catherine was born in Cumberland, R.I. on November 26, 1937 and was the youngest daughter of the late Catherine and Peter Bertozzi.

Catherine graduated from Cumberland High School in 1956 and was a graduate of Our Lady of Fatima Hospital School of Practical Nursing in 1957. Catherine was an L.P.N. and spent most of her nursing career taking care of geriatric patients. Although she worked almost 50 years in her career, her proudest moments came from watching her children and grandchildren grow.

Catherine was the youngest sister to the late, Frank Bertozzi, Helen Bardsley, Joan Dupuis and Peter Bertozzi Jr. She is survived by her sister Eileen Stanton.

Catherine was mother to the late Donna Chace and Janet Murphy. She is survived by her daughters, Paula Ventura, Karen Prendergast, Colleen Champion and Natalie Simoneau, her son Paul DaSilva and her grandchildren, Jason Chace, Troy and Jillian LaDoucer, Natalie Barkey, Rui and Andrew DaSilva and Jason(JD) Simoneau.

She was a loving mother, "nana" and friend who will be greatly missed.

Visitation with the family will be Sunday, December 4th from 11am-1pm at the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main Street, East Greenwich, R.I. Funeral Services will be private.
