November 20, 1951 - September 25, 2025, Charles Wilson Haynes, born in Oak Park, Illinois, on November 20, 1951, passed peacefully on September 25, 2025, in East Greenwich, Rhode Island. A man who loved the ocean, the outdoors, and the simple beauty of God's creation, Charles lived a life filled with faith, devotion, and love. At the age of 23, he proudly joined the United States Navy, beginning a journey of service that reflected his strong sense of duty and commitment. His Catholic faith guided him throughout his life, and for more than 20 years he faithfully attended Mass each Saturday with his beloved partner, Martha Jones. Together, they shared a deep bond of love, laughter, and companionship. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Charles W. Haynes Sr.; his daughter, Sarah Peets; his brothers, Tom and Henry Haynes; and his sister, Dorothy Albert .He is survived by nis deloved partner or more than 20 years, Martha Jones; his daughter, Shannon (Kevin) Burdeshaw; his sisters, Patricia (Rick) Zarboc, Charlene Johnston, Dorothy Gayney Haynesand and Cynthia Fleenor; his granddaughter, Kaleigh (George) Revis; and his great-granddaughter, Whitleigh Grace Revis. Charles will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his love of family, and his ability to find joy in life's simple gifts-especially when near the water. The family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff at Westview Nursing and Rehabilitation and to Gentiva Hospice for the love, compassion, and excellent care they provided during Charles's final days.

A service will be held Tuesday September 30, 2025, at 11 a.m. in the RI Veterans' Cemetery in Exeter, RI. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project P.O.
