Charles M. Mcgowan

Charles M. McGowan, 72, of the Narragansett area, passed away October 7, 2019 surrounded by his loving family.  Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Charles J. and Eugenia V. (Borys) McGowan.

Mr. McGowan was a 1965 graduate of La Salle Academy. He was a life-long lobsterman in Galilee and had worked on boats most of his life.  One of his passions was raising Doberman Pinschers.  He was an avid reader and surfed up until his 50’s.  He was a diehard New York Giants, Yankees and Boston Celtics fan; loved to make gourmet meals and always had a great garden.  He was exceptionally proud of his niece.

He is survived by his beloved family; sister, Maria T. McGowan (Machado) and her husband Charles Machado and niece, Mary Catherine Machado.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, October 11 ^th at 11:00am at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 65 Third St., East Greenwich.  Calling hours will be prior to the Mass 9-10:30am at the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., East Greenwich.  Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
