CHERYL J. ZOLA, CPD, (Ret.)
(61), of Warwick, RI, died unexpectedly on February 4, 2018. She was born in East Lansing, Michigan and was raised in New York and Warwick, RI. She is survived by parents, Joseph and Joan Zola, two sons, Jeremy and Jared Sturdahl and their spouses Chrystal and Dorrae, four grandchildren, Ariana, Cameron, Caitrin and Dagnie, and four siblings, Annette, Norman, John and Michael and his wife Robin. In addition, she leaves behind much loved nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Cheryl was known for her loving, nurturing and giving nature. She was full of love for family, friends and an avid NASCAR fan, but her most important passion in life was spending time with her family. She was a devoted mother to Jeremy and Jared, determined to provide them with a loving and secure home life. At the age of 29, Cheryl was inducted into the Cranston, RI Police Department becoming one of the first female police officers on the force. She honorably served the Cranston community for 17 years with the same passion and devotion she committed to her sons. After retiring from the police force, Cheryl continued her work in serving the community with a number of roles working with the elderly.

Funeral Friday, February 9

at 9:00am from the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., East Greenwich. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 65 Third St., East Greenwich. Burial will be private. Calling hours: Thursday, February 8
