Christopher William Lagasse

Christopher “Chris” William Lagasse, 60, of Johnston, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2026, at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence after a long and courageous battle with cardiac disease. He was born on March 2, 1966, in Warwick, Rhode Island.

Chris was the beloved son of the late Paula Labrie and stepson of the late Byron E. Young. A lifelong Rhode Islander, Chris grew up surrounded by a large extended family and many friends. Prior to his illness, he worked as a painter by trade.

Chris had a lifelong passion for motorcycles and cherished the freedom he found riding his Harley-Davidson. From childhood, he also had a fascination with CB radios, a hobby that remained close to his heart throughout his life. To his many friends, he was fondly known by his CB handle, “Bam Bam”. As an avid NE sports fan, he enjoyed watching and rooting on the Pats and Sox!

He is survived by his four children: Chad Langlais of West Warwick, RI; Amanda Johnson of Minnesota; Corinne Audet of West Warwick, RI; and Sierra Lagasse of New

Hampshire. He also leaves behind three grandchildren in Minnesota.

Chris was predeceased by his brother, Thomas Lagasse and survived by his three sisters: Wendy Nault of Johnston, RI, with whom he lived; Tina Almeida and her husband, Tony, of Port Charlotte, FL; and Bonni Souza.

He also leaves behind his beloved step-grandson, Jordan, affectionately known as his “side-kick,” whom Chris adored, along with many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Chris will be remembered for his, boisterous demeanor and noticeable laugh as well as his CB radio, motorcycles, and the freedom of the open road. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Services will be private. A celebration of Chris’s life will be held at a later date.

Rest easy, Chris. May you forever ride free.
