Dan Naber, 97, passed away December 6, 2024. He was the husband of the late Paulette (Lester) Naber. Born in Shawano, WI he was a son of the late Charles and Genevieve (Flanagan) Naber.
He was a US Army Veteran. After discharge from army, he entered a monastery and served 27 years as a monk in the Carthusian and Capuchin orders, after leaving the religious orders, he worked for many years in a state hospital as an aide for people with mental disabilities. His Catholic faith as well as his belief in the sanctity of life were the most important parts of his and Paulette's life.
He is survived by his nephews and nieces; Charley, Tom, Andy, Paul, Therese Bob, Mike, Kathleen, Tom, Patricia, Mike, Greg, Dave and Susan. He was the brother of the late John Naber, Mary Gene Priske and Neil Naber.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday December 12th at 10:00 am at St. Joseph Church, 144 Danielson Pike, North Scituate, RI. Calling hours are omitted. Burial will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter, RI. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to one of Dan's favorite missionaries.......The Salesian Missions, 2 LeFevre Lane, New Rochelle, NY 10802-0030.
