David D. Johnson, 83, passed away July 18, 2025. He was the husband of the late Elvie E. (Geer) Johnson. Born in Davisville, RI he was a son of the late Henry Clay, Jr., and Alice V. (Walker) Johnson.
Mr. Johnson worked with his father for many years, where they specialized in digging wells, servicing wells, blasting and pump repair. He later worked for Bailey’s Dairy Farm as a hired hand “ I came to work for Rodney for one year, three years ago”. He also worked at Exeter Country Club then for Rolling Green Country Club until he retired.
Being very handy there wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix or get running.
He was always there to help his family and friends. On his family and close friends’ birthdays he would always call to wish them a Happy Birthday.
He enjoyed country music, gardening, hunting, golfing, and driving around the local country roads always wearing his cowboy hat.
He always had a story to tell which will be missed by all who heard them.
He is survived by two stepdaughters, Peggy Sherman and Linda Kelscy, two step grandsons and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Bernice Irene Pucella, Ruth Wood, Russell C. Johnson, Sr and Henry C. Johnson, III.
