David J. Lovett

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved husband and father Dave, who died peacefully surrounded by family at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital on February 28, 2021. Dave was the son of the late Anne Lovett. Born on July 1, 1942, Dave was raised in Smithfield and was a graduate of North Providence High School. He is survived by his devoted wife Jean and daughter Jessica of Johnston. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Carol Placella of Providence, Julianne Tudino of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Margaret DelSesto of Coventry. Dave was employed for 34 years as a Sargent with the campus police department of the Community College of Rhode Island Flanagan Campus. Dave was also a long standing member of the Providence/Cranston Elks Lodge (#14). A proud Marine during the Vietnam War, Dave’s favorite pastimes were watching his beloved Red Sox and Patriots. He also enjoyed attending the annual Marine Corps Ball each November. An amazing husband, father, brother-in-law, coworker and friend, Dave will surely be missed by all who loved him, and live in our hearts forever. Funeral Services will be private.
