David E. Nye

David E. Nye, 68, of Warwick, passed away December 22, 2016. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Nancy E. (Snell) Nye. Born in Providence, he was a son of Lillian (Brown) Nye and the late Robert S. Nye, Sr.

Mr. Nye was a graduate of Bryant College and a US Army Vietnam Veteran. He had worked as a Systems Analyst and an Electronic Data Interchange Specialist. His career also included having been a co-owner of the former Simple Business Decisions.

David was a member of the Warwick American Legion, Post #43. His favorite hobbies were spending time with his family, friends and dog Boomer; wood working and collecting coins.

Besides his wife and mother he is survived by his three children: Peter A. Nye and Angela Jernigan, Heather A. Nye and her husband Scott Youchah and Robert E. Nye and his wife Rachael; grandchildren: Benjamin, Sophie, Jazlyn, Nathan, Alexander, Caleb and Colin and a brother Thomas E. Nye. He was the brother of the late Robert S. Nye, Jr.

His funeral service will be Wednesday, December 28th at 9:30am at the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., East Greenwich. Burial with military honors will be in RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Calling hours: Tuesday 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
