Dean R. Kauffman, MCPO USN Ret., 89, born in Osterburg, PA, died on 13 January 2017 at the Veterans Home in Bristol, RI.

Dean and his wife Patricia (Wever) (deceased) were married for over 69 years and were long time residences of North Kingstown, RI where they raised their 4 children, Stephen, Jorey (deceased), Timothy (deceased), and Julianne (deceased). Dean leaves behind his son, Stephen and daughter in laws Marilyn and Martha as well as 4 Grandchildren, Shane, Alyssa, Kathryn, and Seth. He also leaves behind 8 Great Grandchildren, Aidan, Lukas, Alana, Piper, Cormac, Tierney, Trinity, and Dominic.

Dean R. Kauffman enlisted in the US NAVY in 1945 and served until he retired in 1976. Dean attained the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer and received numerous awards and decorations during his service.

There will be no services held at the prior request of the deceased. Donations to the Veterans Home in Bristol, RI are welcome.
