In Loving Memory of Diale Duane Taliaferro
Diale Duane Taliaferro, beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away on June 29, 2023, in East Greenwich, Rhode Island, at the age of 86.
Diale was born and raised in Battle Creek, Michigan, and attended Lakeview High School, where he excelled academically and athletically. Following his high school graduation, Diale earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Northwestern University, followed by a lifelong career at the Kellogg Company as a packaging engineer.
Beyond his professional achievements, Diale's true joy in life came from his family. He was a loving and devoted husband to his wife, Frances (Mortellaro) Taliaferro, with whom he shared many wonderful years. Together, they built a life full of love, laughter, and treasured memories. Diale is also survived by his sister, Joylon O'Dell of Sarasota, Florida.
Diale's legacy lives on through his two children, Diale Taliaferro II (Mindy) and Denise Taliaferro (Chris Nichols), who were a constant source of pride and joy for him. He found immense happiness in being a father and embraced the responsibilities and joys that came with it. His love extended to his four grandchildren, Aiden, Owen, Diale, and Madeleine, and many nieces and nephews, who brought him immeasurable delight and happiness. He cherished every moment spent with them, nurturing their growth and instilling values that will continue to guide them in their lives.
In 2018, Diale and Frances made the decision to relocate to Rhode Island to be closer to their daughter and grandchildren. This move allowed him to deepen his bonds with his family and create lasting memories. Diale found great satisfaction in being involved in his grandchildren's lives, supporting and encouraging them in their endeavors.
Diale was known for his meticulous nature and his keen organizational skills. He approached every task, big or small, as a project to be tackled with precision. Spreadsheets and his trusty clipboard were never far from his reach. This approach to life reflected his determination, discipline, and attention to detail.
In his leisure time, Diale derived great pleasure from coaching sports and avidly watching games. He will be missed from the sidelines, where he was a steadfast fan, cheering on his grandchildren and their teammates from his blue chair. Diale was a man who exemplified dedication, love, and integrity. He touched the lives of many and leaves behind a legacy of hard work, kindness, and devotion to family. His warm smile, unwavering love, and guidance will be deeply missed but forever treasured.
May Diale rest in eternal peace, knowing that his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
