Donna Rose (Hoehl) Harrington, 63, of Coventry passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on December 21, 2017.
Donna was born on November 5, 1954 in Hawaii to Jesse & Elmer Hoehl. She graduated from East Greenwich High School in 1972. Donna always had a passion for helping others and began to pursue a career in the medical field as a nursing assistant. She married, and became a mother in 1978 with the birth of her daughter Christina and again 1981 with the birth of her son Vincent.
In August 1985, she remarried to Edwin Harrington, and they built a happy life together in Coventry. Through the years, they spent many weekends on their boat docked in Warwick Neck and dinning together at their favorite restaurants. Donna also loved having company and visiting relatives and friends. Their home was always filled with her girlfriends, surrounding the kitchen table laughing, talking and giving advice to one another. Donna welcomed the friends of her children as well. Their backyard and beautiful pool were constantly filled with the voices of neighborhood kids, and Donna was famous for having the best snacks and selection of Kool Aid on the block.
In 1998, Donna resumed her studies to become a nursing assistant and in 2000 was thrilled to acquire a position at Rhode Island Hospital in the Jane Brown Building, the same place she had left to start her family almost 30 years prior. Donna loved her job and made many connections with coworkers and patients. She also found time in her days off to volunteer at the Phenix Baptist Church serving meals to those less fortunate.
Donna Rose Harrington is survived by her loving and devoted husband Ed “Bunny” Harrington, her daughter and son-in-law Jonathan and Christina Izzi of Cranston, her son and daughter-in-law Vincent and Brittany Mesolella of New Jersey, her four grandchildren Nathan, Bianca, Emerson and Beau, he mother Jesse Hoehl of East Greenwich, her brother and sister-in-law Robert and Kate Hoehl of Virginia, and her sister-and-brother-in-law Richard and Gail Agajanian of Warwick.
Special thanks must be given to the wonderful women who cared for Donna at home over the last eight years. They gave so much more than their time to ensure that Donna received the best care and was comfortable at all times.
Her funeral and burial was private.
