Doris A. Pickup

Doris A Pickup, 91, of Warwick, beloved wife of the late John W Pickup died July 4, 2024.  She was born in Passaic, New Jersey, the daughter of the late William and Dorothy Bivona.  She is survived by her younger brother, William Bivona (Nancy) of Narragansett.

Doris's greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She leaves behind her daughter Cheryl Gill (Stephen) of Narragansett, daughter Sue Brimmer of Portland, ME, and her son John Pickup (Lori) of Warwick.  She was adored by her grandchildren, Justin Gill (Melissa), Katy Gill (Robert Francis), Haley O'Brien (Stephen), Kelsey Getchell (partner Rod Wimpert), Jill Boland (Patrick), Tara, Shane, and Dana Krahenbill, and Austin and Chloe Pickup.  She was Nana to her grandchildren and "Grandy" to her seven great grandchildren.  She cherished her time with all of them.

Doris graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a degree in child development.  She enjoyed gardening, walking, traveling, and spending time at Bonnet Shores.

The family gratefully thanks the staff at Brightview Commons (Wellspring) and Hope Hospice for the kind and loving support they provided Doris and her family during her journey with Alzheimer's Dementia.

A celebration of Doris's life will be held on Friday August 2, 2024 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., East Greenwich. Burial will be private.
