Doris S. Rolin

Doris Shirley Rolin 94, of 875 Main Ave Warwick passed away peacefully on Dec. 8, 2020.  She was surrounded by her loving family.  Doris was born January 12, 1926 in the village of Paul Smiths, NY to Carl Brennan Farrar and Maud (Crary) Farrar.  Doris was predeceased by her husband Phil Rolin.  She leaves behind four children Janet Bertwell, Loretta Smith and her husband Brian, Tom Rolin and his wife Julie Merolla, and Dave Rolin, nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Beside her family, Doris loved working with handcrafts, traveling and going out to eat.  Among her many talents were knitting, crocheting, tatting, embroidery, needlepoint and counted cross stitch.  She knit many many prayer shawls for the East Greenwich First Baptist Church Prayer Shawl Ministry.  If you asked her to go out to lunch, she would be waiting at the door.

Many years ago Doris and Phil sold their home in Warwick and purchased a motor home.  They traveled around the country and made two trips to Alaska.  After a cruise to Hawaii, Doris was able to say she had been to all 50 states.

Doris always said that she was going to live to be 100, and she was just a few weeks shy of 95, so that’s a great accomplishment.  We were all blessed to have her in our lives for so long.

A memorial service will be celebrated on Monday December 27, 2021 at 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church of East Greenwich, Peirce St., East Greenwich.
