Dwayne Joseph Labonte

It is with the saddest and most broken of hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Dwayne “Cooley” Labonte, 56, of North Providence, Rhode Island.Dwayne was the son of the late Joyce Labonte, father to Jordan Pina-Labonte, and brother to Raymond Labonte and Melissa Clarke, who, though not related by blood, was his sister in every way that mattered. He was also a beloved brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, friend, and so much more to the many people whose lives he touched.Dwayne had many siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, but he never believed that family was defined by blood alone. If he loved you, you were family. He welcomed people into his life and made them feel like they belonged. His love for the people around him ran deep, and he would do anything for those he cared about.One of the things that made Dwayne so special was his ability to make people laugh. He loved to joke around and could find humor in almost anything. Whether he was talking shit on his better days, telling a story, or simply being himself, he had a way of bringing laughter into the lives of the people around him. His sense of humor was unmistakably Cooley, and there will always be stories that make us laugh while reminding us just how much we miss him.Dwayne cherished the time he spent with his family and friends. Some of the moments he enjoyed most were camping, playing video games with his nephew, eating good food, listening to music, taking a drive, and simply being surrounded by the people he loved. It was often the ordinary moments that became the memories people will hold onto most.He was a passionate Dallas Cowboys fan and a proud Boston Red Sox fan. He worked as a custodian with ServiceMaster for most of his life and later found a passion in company driving, enjoying the time spent behind the wheel and the freedom of being on the road.More than anything, Dwayne will be remembered for his heart, his loyalty, his laughter, and the way he made people feel. He may not have always been the type to say exactly how he felt, but the people closest to him knew how much he cared. His presence brought something special to the lives of those around him, and his absence will be felt in ways words cannot fully express.There will never be another Cooley. There will never be another laugh quite like his, another personality quite like his, or another person who could fill the space he leaves behind. We will miss the conversations, the jokes, the stories, and even the little things we may not have realized we would someday wish we could have back.Although his passing leaves an incredible emptiness, Dwayne leaves behind a lifetime of memories and countless people who loved him. His life will continue through the stories we tell, the laughter he gave us, and the love he shared with everyone fortunate enough to know him.You will forever be loved, remembered, and missed. Every laugh, every story, and every “ouuuffff” and “yeeeeaaaah” will remind us of you and bring a smile through the tears.
