Edilino “Ed” Silva, 85, of North Smithfield, RI, passed away January 10, 2022. Raised in Valley Falls, RI he was the son of the late Joseph and Grace (Costa) Silva
A proud Veteran, Ed served in both the Marines and the Army. During his 15 years of service. He received several Army Commendation Medals for his service during Vietnam as well as “The Air Medal” for his service as a Flight Operations Coordinator.
Upon his retirement from the service he began work as a Materials Manager at Tech Industries in Woonsocket, RI, where he retired after 32 years of dedicated service. During his retirement, Ed could be found most weekend mornings searching local yard sales for antiques and treasures. He loved a great find!
He is survived by his three children; Tracy (Silva) Morton of Biloxi, MS, Paul DaSilva and his wife Christina of Bellingham, MA and Natalie (Murphy) Simoneau of Warwick, RI. Grand Children; Wesley Sullivan, Kacee Lambe and her husband Joshua, Rui, Andrew DaSilva and Jason “JD” Simoneau. Siblings; Irene Charbonneau, wife of the late John Charbonneau, Julio Silva, and Natalie Amaral and her husband Anthony Amaral, as well as several great grand children and loving nieces and nephews.
Ed gave his life to Christ in the early 1980’s, devoting himself to the teachings of the Bible and his faith and love of God. It is with warm hearts that his family hands him over to his Lord and Savior, for we know that Ed was truly prepared and excited to meet him.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation with the family on Saturday, January 22, 2022, 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. at the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main Street, East Greenwich. Burial with military honors to immediately follow at the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
