Edward Richard Reed Lll

Edward Richard Reed lll, 31, of Riverside, passed away at his home on June 5, 2020. Eddie is survived by his loving parents Edward Jr and Jennifer, grandparents Edward Sr and Joan, his Sister Amanda Rossi (Matt), Brother David (Kaitlin), and cherished Sister and best friend Allyson. He also leaves behind his Godfather Billy Reed, along with several aunts, uncles and cousins. Eddie was an Uncle to Ruby, Reed, and Riley. A 2006 graduate of East Providence High School, Eddie was a four-year Varsity Letterman in Division 1 Football and part of the 2003-04 Super Bowl championship teams. In 2005 Eddie was Co-Captain and Most Valuable Player of his team, selected into The Providence Grid Iron Club, and 2nd Team All State running back. In 2006 he was the proud recipient of The William Stringfellow Award. Eddie went on to attend Bridgewater State University where he was a starting running back on the Bridgewater Bears football team as a freshman. Eddie’s passion and love was football. He recently published an article about the game of football. Eddie was also proud of being the 2003 RI Pitch, Hit & Run “Base Running” Champion. Eddie proudly served our country in the US Army Reserves. He was currently employed as an independent carpenter and writer. Eddie had a big heart; he loved his family more than anything. Making people laugh brought him joy, he had many inside jokes with his siblings, especially his youngest sister, Allyson, to whom he was a devoted older brother and made laugh like no one else could. Growing up, some of the memories he enjoyed most with his family included playing at Sabin Point Park, riding bikes on the East Bay Bike Path, watching movies and sports (especially football). Eddie always loved to reminisce about being coached by his dad and grandfather in youth sports including The Riverside Raiders and Little League. He was an avid Michigan Wolverines Football fan, NE Patriot and NY Yankee fanatic, even though his family rooted for the Red Sox. Eddie will be sorely missed by those who knew him and never forgotten. Services will be private. Arrangements entrusted to the J.F. Skeffington Funeral Home and Cremations
