Emilio Gonzalez

Emilio Gonzalez passed away peacefully on December 22, 2025, at Westview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by those who cared for him during his time there.

Emilio was born on May 31, 1955, in Youngstown, Ohio, to Emiliano Gonzalez and Arcelia Colon Gonzalez. He was the brother of Francisco (Frankie) Gonzalez, José Enrique Gonzalez, and Nancy Erica Gonzalez, and is also survived by other family members.

Emilio spent his adult life living in Providence, Rhode Island. He worked for many years as a supervisor in shipping and receiving at Cranston Print Works.

Emilio enjoyed spending time with loved ones, singing and dancing while drinking a beer. He loved music, especially Camilo Sesto, Kenny Rogers, and Billy Joel.

Emilio faced many challenges with his health during his last months. Even while facing hardships, Emilio continued to push forward, rarely complaining, and carrying himself with a beautiful resilience and grace.

Emilio was strong, kind-hearted, witty, and thoughtful beyond measure. He often put others’ comfort before his own and had a way of making people feel welcome in his presence. He brought humor into everyday moments and was deeply beloved by the Vent and Respiratory Care Unit at Westview and by his Eden Hospice Social Worker, Nurses, and Chaplain. Emilio will be remembered for his kind heart and love he gave so freely to others who were close to him.

Emilio is now home with the Lord, reunited with his predeceased loved ones, and free of all pain. May he rest in perfect peace.

“We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.”

1 Corinthians 5:8.
