Evelyn A. White

Evelyn A. White, 95, passed away October 28, 2017. She was the wife of the late Wesley N. White, Jr. and the late Grandville. W. Stearns. Born in Providence she was a daughter of the late Fredrick and Annie (Dow) Tedford.

She was a US Navy WWII veteran and had volunteered at St. Elizabeth Home.

She is survived by three children William C. Stearns, Carl W. Stearns and Carol Beavers; 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late June Stewart and Kenneth and Earl Tedford.

Graveside service with military honors will be held on Saturday November 4th at 11:00 am at North Burial Ground, Providence. Calling hours: Thursday November 2nd from 6-8 pm at the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., East Greenwich. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to South County Habitat for Humanity, 1555 Shannock, Rd., Charlestown, RI 02813.
