Frances M. Dorrance

Frances Mae Dorrance (Branch), wife of the late William I Dorrance, passed away on December 19th, 2016.
Born in East Greenwich, she was the daughter of Harry S. Branch and Florence R. Branch (Fisher), and sister of Jane Anderson and the late Harry Branch and Caroline Landstrom.

She is survived by her daughters and their spouses, Stormy Martin and Glenn Jackson and Anita Concilio and Peter Concilio. She was predeceased by her daughter Margaret "Peggy" Rigby.

In addition to her two daughters, Frances leaves behind her seven grandchildren, Jody Holliday, Kimberly Lennon, Don Rigby, Sean Rigby, Mariah Whitcomb and her spouse Chad Whitcomb, and Jonathan Capurso and his spouse Stacy Capurso. Frances also leaves behind her great-grandchildren.

She loved befriending people as part of her work at Brown & Sharpe, National Chain, and Zero Wampum. Upon her retirement, she also spent several years volunteering at Kent County Memorial Hospital, making friends and brightening both patient and staff daily routines.

Through the years she loved spending special times with her granddaughter Jody. They had a common love of fashion, food, and often played some intense games of gin rummy. Frances lovingly took her card games very seriously.

In Vermont, she loved visiting with her two great-grandchildren, Stella and Max Capurso as well as her grandchildren and daughter Anita. She made a number of friends in VT as well through her numerous visits for birthdays, holidays, and special family gatherings. She thoroughly enjoyed listening to her son-in-law Peter play jazz at local music venues.

In her later years she also enjoyed traveling to visit her extended Jackson families in Pennsylvania and New York. She had so many wonderful memories of these gatherings.

Funeral service Thursday December 29th at 12:00 pm at the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., East Greenwich. Burial will be private. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:30 am -12:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Brentwood Nursing Home Activities Program, 4000 Post Rd., Warwick, RI 02886.
