Francis Edward Giue, 79, of Tiverton, RI, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 29, 2024 after a prolonged illness. He was the son of the late Frank J. Giue and Mary (Livsey) Giue.
Frank was born on January 29, 1945, grew up in Brooklyn, NY and graduated from La Salle Academy in New York City. He went on to proudly serve his country in the US Army in Vietnam. Upon his return, Frank worked for IBM Corporation for 25 years until retiring in 1998. He loved watching old movies and football (especially the NY Jets), playing cards with his friends, traveling around the world, and enjoying time with his children and grandchildren who were his pride and joy.
Frank is survived by his wife of 24 years, Joan Gentilesco-Giue. He was the loving father of two sons: Steven F. Giue of Yorktown Heights, NY, his partner, Dara Hymowitz and Brian D. Giue and his wife Allison (Nine) Giue of Natick, MA. Frank was a caring grandfather to Greyson James, Caleb Dominic (Brian), Joshua Francis and Nora Hailey (Steven). Frank is also survived by his brother Joseph Giue and wife Anna (Copeland) Giue of Wellington, FL and shared a continued closeness with his former spouse, Joanne P. (Amato) Giue.
Frank did not want a service and preferred his family and friends gather to remember him. The family will be planning a celebration of his life at a later date; details to follow.
