Frederick L. Grossman

Frederick L. Grossman, lovingly known as “Fred”, aged 75, passed away with family by his side on December 1, 2022. Resident of Warwick, Rhode Island and born in Worcester, Massachusetts, Fred was the adored husband of Barbara Sion. Fred was the son of Shepphard and Rose Grossman who resided in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Fred graduated from Worcester Classical High School in Worcester, Massachusetts in the class of 1965. He later went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in Accounting from American University’s Kogod School of Business in 1969 and his master’s degree in Economics from Rutgers University in 1971. Fred built a pioneering career at the forefront of financial information management and paperless records. He founded his own company, Grossman Associates, which operated in New Jersey which he ran for many years. Through his career, he worked for the National Bank of Greece, Boston Financial Data Services and other reputable institutions in the field of financial data management until he retired 2016.

Fred always had a curious mind, always explored the latest technology trends, and had a passion for food and travel. Fred was a Europhile, loved European soccer, traveled to numerous European countries throughout his life and took notable trips to Turkey, Morocco and Brazil. With a gentle manner, and dry sense of humor, Fred would befriend anyone he came in touch with. Fred leaves behind his son, Jay Grossman, and his wife Cindy Grossman, and two beloved grandchildren Jenna and Jack, as well as his sister Lorraine Cotton and her sons Michael Cotton, Steven Cotton, and Kenneth Cotton, as well as his step-son Matthew Sion.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, December 6th from 11:00am-12:00pm at the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., East Greenwich, Rhode Island relatives and friends are welcomed to attend.
