George Leon Gauffreau, 60, of East Greenwich passed away Thursday, November 30, 2017 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital surrounded by loving family. Born in Warwick, he was the cherished son of the late Elliott F Gauffreau and Katharine E (Brown) Gauffreau of Exeter, NH.
George, a graduate of the University of Vermont, was an accomplished engineer in the semi-conductor industry. Skilled in playing the saxophone, flute and clarinet, he performed with the likes of Sterling D Weed and His Imperial Orchestra and the Skaneateles Town Band.
George was a devoted husband, father and grandfather using his free time to coach his children’s soccer teams and volunteering at their school to teach religious education. More than anything, he had a big heart.
