Gerald P. King

74, of Glendale, California, formerly of Warwick, passed away February 14, 2013 in Verdugo Hills Hospital in Glendale, California. He was the beloved husband of Patricia (Leahy) King and the father of Cathy King-Schaefer (Wes) of Glendale. Born in Clonmel, County, Tipperary, Ireland, he was the son of the late Samuel & Catherine (Keating) King. Mr. King was the Proprietor of King & Keating Automobile Dealership and Gerry King Car Accessories in Clonmel. He also worked in sales for many years at Inskip and Viti Motors in Rhode Island. Gerry was a Gold Medal Winner in Irish Football and also won many trophies in car racing on the circuits in Ireland and England. He was known for his humor, kindness and great fun. Gerry loved to sing in the company of family and friends. He always lit up the room, stood out in any crowd, and was adored by all who knew him. Besides his wife, daughter, and son-in-law, he leaves five sisters, Bridget Magnier, Patricia Treacy, Nora Dougan, Sister Regina, S.H.M, (Gertrude) - all of Ireland, and Alice Joyce of England. He was also the brother of the late William, Samuel, and James King, Katherine Smyth, Mary Morris, and Vera Trotman. He also leaves many nieces & nephews. Funeral services were held in Glendale.
