Gladys M. Cornell

Cornell, Gladys M., 88, of Hope, passed away April 16, 2016. She was the wife of the late Edwin H. Cornell. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Percy and Olga (Mende) Smith.

Mrs. Cornell was a highly respected antiques dealer. As much as she loved to buy and sell antiques, Gladys also loved to give. If anyone said they liked something of hers she would instantly reply “You want it?” and mean it.

She is survived by her daughter Carol West and her husband Donald and son Daniel Cornell and his wife Charley; 4 grandchildren Amanda, Erin, Gregory and Adam; and great grandson William. She was the sister of the late Walter, Arthur and Alfred Smith

Her funeral service will be Thursday at 7:00pm at the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., East Greenwich. Visitation will be prior to the service from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
