Hannah M. Getchell

Getchell, Hannah M., 92, passed away on September 7, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Linwood Getchell and the late Chester R. Sayles, Sr. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late David and Katherine (O’Reilly) McCarthy.

Mrs. Getchell had been employed as a tool maker for Brown and Sharpe and had previously worked as a supervisor for the Telephone Company. She was a devoted Catholic and parishioner of St. Frances de Sales Church.

She is survived by her three sons; Chester R. Sayles and his wife Ann, Martin J. Sayles and his wife Sandy and William D. Sayles and his wife Stacey and 4 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandchild and siblings; Claire McNamara, Joseph, David, Vincent and John McCarthy.

Funeral Monday, September 11th at 9:00am from the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., East Greenwich. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at St. Francis de Sales Church, School St., North Kingstown. Calling hours: Sunday, September 10th, 2-4pm.
