Hope F. (Stearns) Babin

82, of Lawnacre Drive, passed away peacefully surrounded, by 13 members of her family, on October 9, 2012. She was the widow of William A. Babin, Jr., former RI State Representative, District 9. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of Frank and Flora M. (Barstow) Stearns. Hope enjoyed gardening, painting, reading, music and desserts. She was an avid golfer. Surviving are two daughters Susan L. Babin and Janice A. Corona. She was the sister of Martin F. and June J. Stearns, Carol A. McCarty and Claire L. Travisono and two loving grandsons, Joe Tutsch, Jr. and Bart Lonardo. Visiting hours Thursday 5:00 – 8:00PM to be held at the JF Skeffington Funeral Chapel, 925 Chalkstone Avenue, Providence with relatives and friends invited. Funeral services Friday at 10:00AM with an additional visiting hour beginning at 9:00 AM. Burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be made to Home and Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
