Jack Jay Held (Aka Jake)

On April 26, 2024 Jake passed away peacefully in his happy place at Hide Away Cove Campground. Born on November 4, 1953 in Allentown, Pennsylvania. He was the son of the late Theron Held and Edna DeLong Held. Jake is survived by two sons Joshua and Jeremy Held both of Cumberland, Rhode Island. He also leaves his brothers Robert Held and his wife Laura. Thomas “Tee” Held, Richard Held and his wife Sally and James Held, all from Pennsylvania. He is predeceased by his sisters Marilyn Guiest and Patricia Price. He is also survived by his life long best friend Bobby Henderix of PA, and Geno Gauthier his best friend at camp. Jake had a special talent he could fix anything. He loved to collect parts and rebuild motors and generators. If you ever needed a part, Jake was your go to he had anything you needed in his collection. He was a private man until he got to know you, he had great stories both happy and sad. A proud American he was, he served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Forrestal. He was a member of his local VFW 4908. He enjoyed many things camping, fishing, sitting by the campfire and working on his little projects. On May 9, 2024 at 11AM there will be a military service at the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, 301 S County Trail, Exeter, RI.
