Jacqueline Maio

Jacqueline Maio, 84, passed away January 13, 2017. She was the wife of Marco S. Maio. Born in La Rochelle, France on February 26, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Armand and Germaine Barriere.

She learned and spoke English fluently and graduated high school in 1950. She was employed by the US Army in France as a telephone systems worker; then moved up to clerical office manager at the 532nd Signal Company Army Base, where Marco and she met. They married in July of 1962 and joined Marco in the United States with their 3 ½ month old son Eric in June 1963.

Mrs. Maio worked in clerical positions primarily in Fleet Bank, now Bank of America, until 1989.

She established a self-directed home industry in buying/selling until retirement in 2000, and became a homemaker, loving grandmother, and mother figure to Nicholas and Eric Jr.

She battled cancer from 2012 to the present day. Her love and impact on our family’s lives will live forever.

A memorial service will be celebrated Sunday January 29th at 12:30 pm at Christ Church, 1025 Main St., East Greenwich.
