James P. Flynn

James P. Flynn

James P. Flynn, 87, of North Kingstown, passed away February 21, 2022.  Born in Fall River, MA, he was a son of the late Michael and Mary (Cronin) Flynn.

A graduate of LaSalle Academy, Providence College and Georgetown University School of Law, Mr. Flynn was a Bristolian, a boxer, an attorney, FBI agent, a politician and a happy retiree.  He was a member of St. Francis de Sales Church, the Legion of Mary and the Rosary Society.

He was also a two time cancer survivor, dear friends of Bernice and James Clancy and especially proud of his grandson Kevin, Sgt. USMC, who was a combat veteran of the Afghanistan War and recipient of the Navy Achievement Medal with Valor.

He is survived by: his children Tim, Matt, Mike, Jimmy, Mary and Margaret; grandchildren Kevin, Kristina, Erin, Shannon, Rebecca, Robert, Benjamin and Tyler and great grandchildren Mackenzie and J.R.  He was the brother of Michael Flynn and the late Margaret Gault.  He is also leaves his rescue dog Finnegan from Eland, SC.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, March 1 st at 10:00am at St. Francis de Sales Church, School St., North Kingstown.  Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bristol.  Calling hours:  Monday, February 28 th 4-8pm at the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., East Greenwich.
