James F. Hackett

68, of Cranston, passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at The Philip Hulitar Center surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Marijane (Healy) Hackett. Born in Providence, he was a son of Kathryn A. (Cahill) Hackett and the late James J. Hackett. Jim was formerly the Director of Legislative Data Systems for the State of Rhode Island following his service to the state he enjoyed working for several years at Castellucci Stone Industries. He was a graduate of Providence College with a BA Degree in 1970. A member of the Irish Kings and Friendly Sons of Saint Patrick and a volunteer for the United Way. Surviving besides his wife and mother are two sons, David J. and Jonathon J. Hackett, a sister C. Martha (her husband Lee) Whitaker, his brothers-in-law Paul (his wife Louise) Healy, Peter (his wife Philenda) Healy. Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian burial on Saturday at 10am in Immaculate Conception Church, 800 Oaklawn Avenue, Cranston. Grave side interment will be in Saint Ann Cemetery. Visiting hours in the J.F. Skeffington Chapel, 925 Chalkstone Avenue on Friday from 4-7pm.
