James J. Ludovico, USN (Ret.), 101, passed away January 6, 2026. He was the husband of the late Terry (Onufer) Ludovico. Born in New Haven, CT he was a son of the late Domenic and Latitia (Gaudio) Ludovico.
Jim’s career in the Navy led him to places such as the UK, Africa and Antarctica. From Alaska through California and to the Panama Canal. Jim was present on the boats that carried the Army to the shores on D-Day and landed himself two weeks later. During the course of his career in the Navy he met his soulmate, Terry. After their marriage, Jim remained in the Navy Reserve and settled in East Greenwich, RI. Jim was a quiet man and lived his life peacefully. He loved his family and was especially fond of his sister, Mary. With the loss of his brother, Connie, at the age of 100 years 3 months, Jim proclaimed he would beat his age. At 101 years and 6 months he stated he was proud of himself, and we are sure he is up in heaven not letting Connie forget it!
He is survived by several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Benjamin Ludovico, Peter Ludovico, Frank Ludovico, Connie Ludovico, Michael Ludovico, John Ludovico and Mary Corcoran. He was the companion of the late Ruth Tonks.
Funeral service Thursday, January 15, 2026 at 12:30 pm at the Fagan Quinn Funeral Home, 825 Boston Neck Rd., North Kingstown UNDER THE DIRECTION OF THE HILL SKEFFINGTON FUNERAL HOME OF EAST GREENWICH. Burial with military honors will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:30 am – 12:30 pm.
